The Year In Jalopnik, 2007 Edition

Another year has come and gone and one thing's for certain — it was a tumultuous year both here and in the auto industry. We saw Jalopnik have a orderly transition of power. We saw an automaker get sold by another automaker to a bunch of guys with a lot of money who've never built a car before — and then we saw Chrysler purchased by Cerberus, creating the entity now known as Chryslerberus. There were some good times, some bad times, some I'll-be-on-your-side-forever-more times. We saw the creation of Project Car Hell and Down on the Street. Although the Jalopnik Fantasy Garage was started at the end of 2006, it was in like the last two weeks of the year, so we'll count it as 2007. We saw Wert drive the drop-top Camaro concept and have a robogasm. Ben was there, he remembers. We saw Murilee and Wes each play with the Audi R8 while Wert cried. Jonny, like Al Haig, was in charge on the second day of the LA Auto Show, even getting behind the wheel of the Honda FCX Clarity. Travis made a big splash with a very big Optimus Prime costume and Matt told us the best of what to buy and the worst of what not to buy. We introduced a woman, and found out one of us wasn't one. We saw a college kid play with a toy-like car. All in all, it was a very good year. How good was it? Let's find out. Here's the top of the top of everything from 2007 here on Jalopnik.
