So, you know those podcasts that I do once ever other blue moon during leap year with Farago? Well, sometimes we talk Porsche. And I always pronounce it, "Porsche," even though I know it should be — or at least think it should be — "Porsche." I start worrying that I sound like even more of a helpless idiot and then Farago gets the best of me. And it looks like I'm not alone. Steven B. writes:
A very simple one (maybe even a stupid one): In the US, should Porsche be pronounced with one or two syllables? I feel like two syllables makes me sound pretentious, but one syllable makes me sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. This has been a dilemma for me for many years.
So, let's settle this once and for all. Here in the America, how do we pronounce ass-engined Nazi slot car Porsche?
