The 2014 Cadillac CTS: We've leaked it. We've teased it. We've revealed the whole thing. Now we show you what it looks like in person as it debuts at the New York Auto Show tonight. And you know what? It makes me say "God Bless America."

I love the design of the new CTS. I think Cadillac knocked it out of the park and showed the world what the new GM can do when it puts its mind to it, much like they have done with the new Corvette Stingray — but in a very different way.

The new CTS evolves the car in a way that is faithful to the "art and science" design language of the past but is at the same time sleeker and more modern. The overall lines invoke the Mercedes-Benz S-Class from some angles, but they look more chiseled here. And those LED strips up front are unquestionably-Audi-ish, although I like them because they don't feel as tacked-on ones on other luxury cars.

But that front end? Uniquely American. It's bold, aggressive and powerful-looking. It looks like it's ready to kick some ass.

So does this car's engine lineup. Remember, the new CTS is getting a base 2.0 liter turbo four, a 3.6 liter V6 putting out 320 horsepower, as well as a thundering new 3.6-liter, twin-turbo V6 good for 420 horsepower. The new CTS is larger than its predecessor, weighing in around 3,600 pounds.

We'll also be getting a V8-powered CTS-V at some point as well.

Way to go, Cadillac. I hope this one drives as good as it looks.
