Nope, it's not an April Fool's Day joke. Steve Saleen announced today that he's regained control of the Saleen brand, five years after "retiring" (a move seen by many as more like "pushed out") from the eponymous company he founded and which filed for bankruptcy protection just a few years later.

Like Carroll Shelby before him, Steve Saleen is a former racer who has made a name for himself building performance cars. Today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe Saleen Focus N2O may not have the cachet of Carroll's name, but is its price noteworthy?

Steve Saleen's SMS has taken a crack at the new 5.0-liter Mustang with the naturally-aspirated, SMS 302 Mustang producing 440HP/400lb-ft of torque and the roots-supercharged 535HP/450lb-ft SMS 302SC Mustang. Of course there's a whopping-big spoiler and also the upcoming 351X.

If you want a 200 MPH+ car, your options are limited. If you want one that also waves the Made in America flag, they're even more limited. But don't worry, Nice Price or Crack Pipe has got your back.
