Austin Mini, Infiniti G20, Plymouth Duster To Compete At Buttonwillow Histrionics

Taking place the same weekend as the Monterey Historic Races, the lure of the Buttonwillow Histrionics 24 Hours Of LeMons should make Monterey a ghost town. Jump for the complete team list!

The LeMons bug has bitten the Jalopnik readership with all its many fangs. In addition to LeMons veteran LTDScott's Porcubimmer BMW E30, Project Car Hell Poster Child Mad_Science will be racing the Team Unknown Fluids BMW 633CSi, and that's just for starters- it'll be a Jalopnik meetup at Buttonwillow for sure!

We've often debated the pros and cons of the Infiniti G20 as a LeMons car, and now we're going to see what happens when one hits the track! The KaBoom Box G20 is looking good, and we can only hope the team will be doing some break dancing to entertain the LeMons Supreme Court.

The First-ever LeMons Fiat X1/9 came in 47th (out of 100) at the 2008 Arse Freeze-a-palooza LeMons. That was respectable, but the Stallions want more! How are they upgrading their mid-engined Italian racer, to enhance performance and reliability? A quartet of motorcycle carburetors, of course. Good thinking!

Speaking of cars we've always wanted to see at LeMons, it appears that Team Bean will be making our wish to see a classic Austin Mini LeMons racer come true. Not only that, their car is one year older than UDMan's '63 Corvair, thus making it the oldest race car in 24 Hours Of LeMons history! Judging from the photos of the hopeless basket case challenging race car project on Team Bean's website, we think the next few weeks will be very busy ones for these completely insane highly ambitious guys.

OK, let's proceed to the team list! I've sorted the entries by car model year, with the oldest cars first. Keep in mind that the list will change as some teams flake out, others change their vehicles at the last second, and so on; we can expect to see something like 100 cars racing on the weekend of August 15th and 16th (and, yes, we're going to be very busy applying our special stencils to the twelve BMW E30s that will be competing).
