We know that Grand-Am left Daytona for the Porsche 250 at Barber Motorsports Park almost a month ago, but we don't mind; the best races are timeless. Watch as every kind of sports racing car dukes it out on this track in the Southside.
The results should be common knowledge to those who follow Grand-Am, but since that number is a good deal smaller than the race organizers would like, here's how the Porsche 250 turned out. The No. 90 Corvette Daytona Prototype took its first win after two years of breakdowns. In the GT Class, the No. 60 tube-framed Mazda RX-8 won out over a Ferrari 458, the Brumos and Magnus Racing Porsches, and the Turner Motorsport M3. Other GT cars and a whole field of showroom-stock racers filled out the results behind them.
These pictures from MotorSportMedia show what we love to see in a race – a blend of different manufacturers and different classes fighting for room on the track.
What's more, we have video of Eric Curranin the No. 31 Corvette Z06 mid-race. The sound is unreal.
The next race of this Nascar-owned sports car series is this weekend, finishing up its stay in the South at Miami. MotorSportMedia will be bringing us shots and video from that race, too. We're looking forward to it.
