We've had a mini-Philadelphia theme week, what with Cupcake Lady and Crazy Carhoppin' Dude. I took the kids to Philly last weekend for a end-of-summer road trip, and while most of it was spent in overpriced museums, I reserved time for one authentic cheesesteak. Philly has two shops — Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's — that are supposed to serve the real deal in tourist-acceptable fashion. But I didn't want tourist-class, I wanted world-class. And I found it at Cosmi's Deli in south Philly; a nondescript store front that served the best cheesesteak I may ever eat. Commenter i can be stig also decided not to settle, in this case for Porsche's mediocre offerings:
