Here's Everything We Think Will Happen In 'Drive To Survive' Season Six

The episode names are out, the trailer is here and we’re now just one day away from the new season of ‘Drive To Survive’ dropping.

Formula 1 fans, 'Drive To Survive' is back on Netflix tomorrow for its sixth season, are you excited? The new series promises the same high stakes, questionable editing and exaggerated storylines that we've grown to love about the show, and I for one am excited to get stuck into series six.

But what could possible feature in the ten episodes that are set to drop on Netflix tomorrow? Well, we were shared a sneak peak at the episode names earlier this week, so the Jalopnik team has taken its best guess at what might feature.

So flick through the following slides to see if you agree with our guesses. And, if you don't, head to the comments section below to let us know what you think might take place instead.

Money Talks

As is tradition, there will be one episode of "Drive To Survive" that's actually interesting for die-hard fans, offering a glimpse behind the F1 curtain, and it'll be this one. In "Money Talks," I bet we're getting an inside look at the tight budgets F1 teams must now operate under.

After Red Bull was found to have breached the budget cap in 2021, and was subsequently given a fine and aero testing penalty going into the 2023 season, we'll finally see what this meant to the side. As such, we'll hear from Christian Horner about how the overspend was merely on cakes reserved for afternoon tea, and definitely not on the aerodynamic wizardry that has helped the team dominate the sport. – OB

Fall From Grace

This could be about Ferrari's tumble down the standings after challenging Red Bull in 2022, or it could be about the continued struggles of the Mercedes F1 team as it decides to stick with its "zero-pod" car. But instead, I bet it follows Lance Stroll as he struggles to get back from injury and on track.

In the episode, we'll follow the young Canadian through his junior career and wins in F2, which he'll tell us is definitely what he wanted to be doing and wasn't something thrust upon him by his father. Then, we'll hear of the struggles he faces with double world champion Fernando Alonso has his team mate, just to really hammer home his humble underdog status. – OB

Under Pressure

If there's one thing "Drive To Survive" loves, it's a made up rivalry between teammates. Especially if it revolves around McLaren ace Lando Norris. Season six is no different, so after clashing with Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo, the producers will now take us deep inside the intense rivalry between Norris and his young teammate, Oscar Piastri.

There'll be heated stares, awkward silences, nervous laughter and a whole heap of jealousy as Piastri picks up third and second place finishes over the course of the season. – OB

The Last Chapter

Don't worry, this episode doesn't mark the end of season six after just four episodes. Instead, it's titled in honor of the last chapter in the Williams Formula 1 team's revival and recovery from the back of the pack.

After several years spent fighting to make it through to Q2 and very little chance of a points finish come race day, this episode will focus on the way Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant and James Vowles have turned around the struggling Williams team. We'll see Albon's repeated finish inside the points, and will get live reactions from Seargent as he scores his first points in F1. This will be a real feel-good episode. – OB

Civil War

"Civil War" is obviously a nod to Ken Burns' iconic 1990s documentary miniseries about the American Civil War. Viewers should expect the episode to recount a portion of the F1 season solely through sepia-tone still images with commentary from the usual talking heads. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see dramatic readings of social media posts with celebrities portraying F1's competitors. – RK

Leap Of Faith

After a troublesome start to the year for America's sweethearts, the Haas F1 Team, it's in this episode that we're told the heartbreaking news that team boss Guenther Steiner is leaving the American outfit.

However, the move isn't as a result of upper management, oh no. Instead, Steiner is leaving of his own accord as he makes a leap of faith into the world of hyper-realistic cake baking. He shows us around his new bakery, which houses a recreation of the 2019 Rich Energy Haas car that he's baking. He proudly explains that he plans to finish the cake and then destroy it in some therapeutic manner. – OB

C’est La Vie

In this episode, we'll get up close and personal with Alpine driver Esteban Ocon, following him on the summer break as he frolics around France with his friends and family. Through the episode, we'll hear all about his tough journey to F1 and the bad luck that saw him sidelined by Force India Racing Point.

Then, we'll cut back to the 2023 season so far and Ocon's crash in Bahrain, followed by his crash in Hungary and then his crash in Brazil. These, he assures us in interviews, were not his fault. Instead of his reckless driving, the massive repair bill he's caused the team is actually just life in F1 and down to the haphazard approach of other drivers. Especially his teammate. That's life, he'll say as he winks to the camera. – OB

Forza Ferrari

This will be another big emotional episode in the series, I can just feel it. In it, we'll follow Ferrari through the first half of the F1 season and its struggles to get back on the podium as Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso keep stealing their sacred third place.

Then, we'll fast forward to Singapore and follow the team as driver Carlos Sainz fights his way to a triumphant win – his first for the year. This, the show's commentators will tell us, marks a turning point for the side and it'll now be serious in its fight for the championship. Netflix will then neglect to tell us that Ferrari finish third after an onslaught of bad luck, awful strategies and Red Bull dominance. – OB

Three’s A Crowd

You might think this is about Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries all vying for the two seats AlphaTauri had in 2023, but it's not. Instead, 'Drive To Survive' is playing the long game and will pit Red Bull racers Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and third driver Daniel Ricciardo head-to-head.

We all heard the rumors about Ricciardo going as quick as Verstappen at a secret Red Bull test, but in this episode it's all blown up to maximum dramatic proportions. We'll no doubt hear of bickering between the three drivers, bickering between Red Bull leaders Christian Horner and Helmut Marko and bickering between the other teams about Red Bull's influence over two F1 outfits. – OB

Red Or Black

"Red Or Black" seems like an obvious hint about Lewis Hamilton's dilemma deciding between staying at Mercedes or leaving for Ferrari. Though, it's too easy. The episode has to be about the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The title is a roulette reference, which is appropriate considering how the race was one of Formula 1's biggest-ever gambles. While I wouldn't call it a bait and switch, the producers knew what they were doing. – RK
