One hundred and sixteen years ago this week, William Crapo (yes, really) Durant founded General Motors in the hopes of creating a large conglomerate that could scoop up all the smaller automotive companies blooming in turn of the last century Detroit. While GM would eventually become a huge success, indeed one of the largest companies in the world, its founder died a penniless bowling alley operator reliant on friends to cover his debts. - Erin Marquis Read More

A true vision in green, this XJ-generation Jeep Cherokee two-door appeared before me this weekend as if descended from the heavens. Forest Service Green is an S-tier color for an old timer 4x4, and this champion of sensible American off-roading is among the best to ever wear it. I believe former Jalop David Tracy (RIP) would call this a Holy Grail. If you haven’t yet prostrated yourself at the altar of FSG, now would be the perfect time to do so. - Bradley Brownell Read More

Sometimes you don’t need dialogue in your short film to make it captivating. This ride-along video at the Nürburgring, featuring a Caterham 340R with far more grip than power, is a new high point for me in YouTube cinematic review. The lighting and character development leave a little to be desired, but the film chooses a gorgeous venue and an enigmatic protagonist to capture our attention for the full nine minute and five second run time. - Bradley Brownell Read More

Data shows that American car buyers have little-to-no sense of creativity when it comes to the color of their vehicle, with the four most popular colors being white, black, silver, and gray. It’s rare to find a colorful car at all, let alone one in a statement color like pink, and finding a pink car that’s not a Jeffree Star hot pink nightmare is practically impossible. One cosmetics company, though, has offered its top sellers tasteful pink Cadillacs for more than 50 years. The name Mary Kay is synonymous with two things, a hugely successful woman-founded cosmetic business empire, and blush pink Cadillacs. - Logan Carter Read More

2025 Honda Civic Si
Photo: Andy Kalmowitz / Jalopnik

The refreshed 2025 Honda Civic Si is a fabulous little sports sedan. Very few other cars on the market are so well-rounded at such a solid price point. Out the door, the Civic Si you see here will cost you $31,345, making it cheaper than the rest of the competition. At that price, you’re getting a whole lot of tech, safety equipment, fabulous driving characteristics and a wonderful six-speed manual transmission all wrapped in a very sporty yet understated body. - Andy Kalmowitz Read More
