Unfortunately, the bus does not serve the Number 2 route.

I knew the party was over when they wanted to start making investors happy. That usually means screw the people who ride our planes in airline speak. Read more

I spent this past summer backpacking through Southeast Asia. Yes, backpacking in 2014 does include flights. I started in the Philippines, hopped on an Air Asia 4 hour flight to Bali for significantly less than $100 USD. After spending some time in Bali I flew via Air Asia to Singapore for less than it costs to fill up Read more

I was actually in SE Asia this past summer for a month and a half and I flew Air Asia one time while traveling in between countries from Krabi, a small beach town in Southern Thailand to Singapore. In USD the flight was $35 for a 1.5 hour flight. Everything across this entire region is unbelievably cheap from food, Read more

I was on scene of a plane crash last month in a chicago suburb and we're explicitly told we were not to take our phones out anywhere near the crash site. They were to stay in our pockets at all times. Saw one fire fighter get his phone confiscated by police for not following that procedure. Read more

People suck. They'd probably not do that if it was their Mom, Dad, daughter....yeah assholes, that's someone's family. Just wow. Read more

Paul, It seems the American market really favors the Airbus economics. Boeing builds far more efficient and, IMO, far more quality airplanes than Airbus. The 787 and 777 are wide body kings for distance and efficiency (Airbus planes don't hold a candle to Boeing when it comes to efficiency in any category, /FLAME) but Read more

I wish there was a new flight simulator that wasn't xplane Read more

Having lived around MSP almost my entire life I sure will miss those 747s flying around. Seeing them on takeoff is just the best damn thing. :( Read more

That's just the kind of label that gives these jets self-image complexes. They're not wide bodied, they're just big-boned. Sheesh Read more

FUN FACT: With anti-ice (type 4 application), pilots are informed of the type, dilution, and level of precipitation to determine "hold-over" time. The time starts at FIRST application of fluid, and in moderate precip with real cold temperatures, you'd need to get airborne as soon as possible to beat the clock!

And here I'm too lazy to move my couch when vacuuming. Read more

I am an A&P mechanic. The maintenance cycle is based on hours in service which means that if 2 of the engines are due for overhaul; all 4 are due for overhaul. It's also a matter of downtime. If you can remove all four engines and overhaul them while the interior of the plane is already being gutted at the same Read more

Just like American Airlines...except they refit the interior ever 30,000 flights instead of 3,000. Read more

Biggest issue with BWB (blended wing body) passenger aircraft? It's the fact that as you move seats further from center-line, the greater the distance that seat moves up/down during turbulence or turns. Supposedly Boeing has designs that would meet the 90 second rule but the concern was with the quality of ride for Read more

IDK. That seems to be very inefficient from a space utilization perspective for both the seating arrangement and the planform. Although, that would be something that pax would love, but the airline could not afford to operate unless there was a massive efficiency boost. The airlines would still want a cattle-car Read more

OK, so which row's the vomitorium? (given the similarity to the Colisseum)
