The ridiculously long supercar race down under may be over, but you can still feel the excitement of the Bathurst 12 Hour by pretending that you've got some Mercedes, Bentley, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and McLaren (amongst others) coming towards you at epic speeds!

Reader and photographer Joel Strickland was actually there (unlike the rest of us poor slobs who had to watch via livestream or on Aussie television). And he apparently had amazing access to the entire mountain course and, of course, so many cool, cool cars. This is a description of "one of the coolest media calls I have ever been involved in" in his own words:

The organisers allowed myself and the official event photographer the ability to photograph a moving pack of awesome GT3 cars in action as they drove up the closed race track from a car driven in front of them.

On the way up the mountain we had last years race winner Maranello Motorsport in the middle on their McDonalds sponsored Ferrari F458, next to them on left of frame was the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Hong Kong based Craft Bamboo racing and on the other side the Mercedes SLS AMG from Erebue Racing.

After the press conference and as the cars had to come back down the Mountain to the pits we had another opportunity to photograph this awesome GT3 line up. On the way down we had a different selection of cars up front. In the middle was the Audi R8LMS of Phoenix Racing next to them is the eventual race winner Nissan Nismo GTR of the Nissan Global Athlete team. On the other side is the Bentley Continental GT3 of Flying B Racing.

In the second row you can see the Mclaren MP12c and the Porsche 911 GT3R.

Bad. Ass. Also, BONUS:
