Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?
This weekend's unbearable lightness of racing is a continuation from last week's racing-light schedule, as the air begins to buzz around the Circuit de la Sarthe in France. The lightness is particularly felt in races that involve four wheels and turns in two directions, with the Rolex Sports Car Series at Mid-Ohio providing pretty much the only available fare of that nature.
In terms of Two Wheels Bad, however, there is the MotoGP race in Catalunya (or Catalonia to us Yanks), which certainly promises to be a great race as its a favorite track of mine, and if its my favorite then it will be good because I say so. So there.
Back here in the States, there's Indy racing in Wisconsin, drag racing in Tennessee, and NASCAR in Michigan. Speaking of NASCAR, we should all do our best this weekend to remember Jason Leffler, who unfortunately passed away this week in an accident while racing in New Jersey. Race on, Jason. You will be missed.
