There might an issue if you're in the market for some of the best-selling Volkswagens. According to a dealer memo obtained by Jalopnik, some 2014 models are under a stop-sale order over transmission problems. This means the cars can't be sold until there's a fix.

We received a tip from a reader that VW sent a memo Tuesday to U.S. dealers issuing an immediate stop-sale on Jettas, Passats and Beetles with the 1.8T engine built after February 1 equipped with automatic transmissions due to "potential risk of the transmission oil cooler leaking," according to VW.

There's no word yet on if models that have already been sold will be recalled. It also appears manual transmission-equipped cars are unaffected.
