One of the ways that developers keep video games entertaining for us is by periodically releasing expansions. And it’s about time for the Forza Horizon 3 expansion. Perhaps snow and ice will alleviate my boredom.

First teased at the beginning of this month, we now have a name and a date: the new expansion will be called Blizzard Mountain and will be available on December 13.

In addition activities like a new barn find, beating a ski jump world record, drifting in the snow and winning a mountain race without the use of snow tires, the game will also offer seven new cars.

They are: the 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX, 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck, 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4, 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B, 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept, 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck and 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car.

There will be Hill Climb, Descent and Blizzard race events. There will be a frozen lake for if you ever wanted to drive—oh, say—an Aston Martin on one.

I’ve griped about my current frustrations with the game in the past. Snow and ice seem like a dreadful time for a Ford GT. But the new cars all seem perfectly suited to the snowy alpine conditions, which actually should make for a good time.

You can buy the Blizzard Mountain expansion pack separately or as part of the Expansion Pass, which gives you a discount to two expansions for $34.99. The holidays are right around the corner.
