Race Car Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of Racing While Drunk

Leslie Charles Hunter has a unique distinction: He is the first person we've heard of that has been arrested for suspicion of RUI. Not driving under the influence, but racing under the influence.

Hunter was racing at Watsonville Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA on Friday night. He was accused of driving recklessly during a race that night, and apparently he forced a number of competitors off or onto the side of the track.

That sounds more like he was imitating Michael Schumacher trying to keep Rubens Barrichello behind, not drunk driving. Maybe they just meant to give him a penalty for blocking and someone really misunderstood?

Afterwards, he was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving and driving with a BAC of more than 0.08.
