When it comes to iconic movie cars, the 1980s were a goldmine: Back to the Future’s DeLorean, Sixteen Candles’ Porsche 944, and of course: the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Thirty years ago today, Cameron’s dad’s untouchable, rare Ferrari hit the theaters.

It’s the car we’ve all wanted to take ourselves and hoon mercilessly. It’s so pretty. It’s too pretty. It all but deserves to be un-prettied at the protagonists’ hands.
