It's been too long since we've watched our three favorite middle-aged British men hoon the ever-loving crap out of high-end cars, risk their lives in ridiculous challenges and piss off the French. The good news is we won't have to wait much longer for that sweet Top Gear action.
Some possible spoilers are below, so maybe don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.
Jeremy Clarkson himself announced on Twitter yesterday that the motoring world's greatest automotive TV show — besides The Jason Torchinsky VAZ Hot Rod Power Hour, which airs on an obscure California public access channel around 1 a.m. on Tuesdays — will recommence on Jan. 23. In just under two months from now, Top Gear will be back in our lives again. Huzzah!
Note that it's kind of an odd date because it's a Thursday, and Top Gear typically airs on Sunday.
What can we expect from the show's 21st season? According to the blog Motorward, (stop reading here if you don't want spoilers) the guys will drive the new seventh-generation Volkswagen GTI, do a track test of the McLaren P1, visit Australia for the famed Bathurst V8 Supercars race and much, much more.
Should be a good time. It usually is.
