Anticipation has been steadily building since we found out the old BBC Top Gear team of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond would be moving their automotive to the internet to make The Grand Tour. Tonight, we can finally watch it.

How To Watch The Grand Tour:

  1. Be in the U.K., U.S., Germany or Japan.
  2. Become an Amazon Prime member before tonight.
  3. Mash “refresh” on The Grand Tour page on tonight at 7:01 p.m. Eastern, or 4:01 p.m. Pacific.
  4. Enjoy.

Starting in December, Amazon will open the floodgates to the rest of the world.

The Grand Tour is an Amazon.com product, which means it will be available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. A spokesperson has confirmed that you will not be able to watch the show on a “pay-per-episode” basis, you’ve got to become a member to get it on time.

The first episode is slated to drop tonight at 00:01 Greenwich Mean Time, and we’ll be liveblogging the whole thing.

If it’s not there initially, just sleep and wait like a normal human. The show’s not going anywhere.

Anyway a Prime Video membership is $8.99 a month. Since the show is expected to have a 12-episode first season (running every Friday, or Thursday night if you’re not in the United States) you should be able to keep up with the show for about $27.

But if you feel like spending a little more ($10.99/month) you can unlock the full Amazon Prime experience which gets you deals on shipping, jumps on sales and unlimited cloud storage which actually sounds kind of awesome.

The easiest workaround for you cheapskates (no shame) is to get the free 30-day trial membership. But of course, once that runs out so will your supply of new The Grand Tour episodes. So call it $18.

I mean, if you’re really cheap you can just wait five minutes after it goes live, Google “stream the grand tour free,” and some grainy virus-riddled rip will probably be on the first or second results page. But I’m sure I’m not supposed to endorse that. Support the artists!

Anyway I’ll be in Mexico scraping sand out from under my eyelids when this drops but I’m almost more excited to come back and crash onto my couch with it as soon as I get back.
