Fiat Will Give Rental Cars To 500e Owners That Want To Drive Far Away

The Fiat 500e will have a relatively small 87-mile range when it goes on sale this year. So what if you want to travel far, far away? Fiat will rent you a car so you can do just that.

A small range will make it tough to take the 500e on a road trip. So Fiat is giving out 12 days of rentals from Enterprise each year, since most customers will probably treat the 500e as a commuter car.

Of course, those rentals will be of gas-powered cars.

Kinda defeats the point of going green, right? It also reinforces the point that the 500e is a car built partially to help Fiat comply with California's requirements for EVs.
