The Caterham Kobayashi-Edition Seven Looks Like A Blast
Ten lucky Japanese drivers can get their hands on a Seven designed by Caterham F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi, with a 125 horsepower Ford engine, a six-speed manual, a limited-slip differential and carbon fiber bits. An appetizing package.
The Kobayashi edition is a single-seater and features an aluminum tonneau cover over the passenger seat area, with a single-sided rollover hoop fixed to the rear bulkhead. Wearing a number 10 badge on its nose, it also comes with 13-inch diamond cut black wheels and a polished chrome exhaust system.
The 1.6 Ford Sigma engine propels the car to 62mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 122 mph, so the performance stays pretty much stock, but the carbon fiber front wings and rear wing protectors got infused with the Caterham green lacquer to make this car stand out from the crowd.
Inside, the green theme continues with a carbon fiber dashboard (signed by Kamui), and anodized green gear knob, a 4-point Takata harness and a carbon fiber seat with green contrasting stitching and a Kamui logo in the head rest.
The price for all this is $58,866, but Caterham is big in Japan, so consider these to be sold out already.
