Oh yes, we've got more of the rough n' tumble Tonka truck-like action that is the Suzuki X-Head concept car. We still don't have very much information we can give you on it but we've been told it's over 12 feet long and it's powered by a 1372cc engine. All we know for sure is we can't wait to see this thing in person later this month when it's revealed in the Makuhari Messe at the Tokyo Auto Show. Anything that mixes an El Camino and a Tonka truck just sets our hearts atwitter in the most peculiar way imaginable.

Looks tippy...
Damn, someone's a fan of octagons.
Reminds me a lot of either a long wheelbase Samurai (yes, they made them), or the early Toyota pickups.
Yeah...it's a concept...but I want one.
Hot damn I want one.
Give it a proper grill treatment, and I'd buy it...
Man that thing looks like it'd be a blast to drive. Hope they don't castrate the concept car and turn it into another humdrum soccer mom mobile like so many other awesome concept cars in the past have become.
@GregH: So does a Unimog.
I don't need one, but I want one! now!
Another brilliant auto they ought to build and send to America. That'd be a fantastic college and high school car - not to mention a much more sensible truck option for the suburban idiots who feel like they need a Ford F-150 to carry their large asses and a coffee mug, 3 gimme caps and a copy of Playgirl. Oops - so sorry macho men, I meant Playboy, didn't I? Oh, and a new large-screen TV once a year.
*sigh* When is America going to get smarter?
If Suzuki ever produces ONE of it's spiffy concepts, I'll get excited.
Maybe they can figure out how to put it on the Torrent/Vue/Equinox/XL7 platform.
If anyone remembers the Ford Bronco Concept from 09 supposedly its been in development and will be seen again in 2008. I mention this because of the shared aesthetic it has with the X-Head.

04 not 09.
The awesomeness could only be increased via Dekotora style.
I like this little gem. Reminds me of a futuristic Dodge A-100 pickup. Neato!
Mmm... leaf springs.
I bet this is just another Samurai variant, like the X-90.
@legerdemain: X-90 had coils in the rear and independent front suspension.
Leaf springs are super simple and cheap. Not like a 4x4 with these proportions is going to ride/handle all the well anyways. Coils would ok, but they need to keep the solid axles (preferably with dropout center sections).
The world doesn't need another Rav-4/CRV competing mini-CUV on a car chassis. The world does need a light, cheap, simple 4x4. (I'll supply the mud tires and beadlock wheels if need be).
Looks like futuristic impression of Jeep FC150 that was built between late 50's to mid 60's. Return of the cab forward standard cab ?
A Pushme-Pullyou concept? Which is the front end?
Or does that give more options for obstacle entry-exit?
@Mad_Science: China Motor Corporation here in Taiwan make the Varica, a lightweight forward control truck with a 4X4 version. It has a good local rep for toughness and reliability but AFAIK has never been significantly exported.
The Suzuki equivalent, the Carry, has a local rep. for early death due to warped cylinder heads, but its been sold all over (uniquely by both GM and Ford as well as Suzuki) under various names (Ford Pronto, Bedford/Vauxhall Rascal,Chevrolet Supercarry,Holden Scurry).
Go figure. Politics / marketing clout I suppose.
