The folks over at Air Power Systems decided the 505 horses of stock output from the Z06's LS7 engine just wasn't enough for them. So the turbo-lovin' young punks took the stock engine and developed themselves a twin turbocharger kit, which they claim brings the engine's output up to an amazing 1100 rear-wheel HP. Nice — who needs to wait for the Detroit Auto Show and the reveal of the new supercharged 2009 Corvette ZR1 when you can build yourself an APS-engineered turbocharged Corvette Z06? Well, you won't get the neat-o see-through plastic hood.

I'd feel no shame in having the setup sitting in place of a standard dining room table. Or dropping that into an ol '56 GMC Stepside. Pass the gravy!
You don't need a frigging clear hood, do it the rat rod way, and leave the hood off!

I wonder how well that works with the high compression and thin cylinder walls in the LS7.
@Murph: Running with no hood is rediculously bad for aerodynamics in a car like the ZO6, and is a collosally stupid idea.
Even though I've looked under the hood of a Z06 I forgot what a compact little bastard that LS7 is.
Didn't they make 1000hp last year with a Nissan VQ35? Shouldn't this be making much more hp with double the displacement?
