Hoon Of The Day: The VW Hippie Bus Can Jump!


We have a sweet spot in our hearts for the VW bus. It's a spot tasting totally sweeter after watching the following jump and subsequent hydroplane-to-safety made by these daredevils. Now that we know it can get mad ups, we totally want one of these shaggin' wagons!

    I once had a job where a couple of times a day I'd deliver mailings to the post office in a 70's-era microbus. Dukes of Hazzard buff that I was, I once tried a bootleg turn in the post office parking lot. Got the thing on two wheels (unintentionally). Suspension on the driver's side felt fully compressed. The view out the driver's side window was nothing but asphalt. After an interminable moment of balancing, the thing dropped back down on all fours. Didn't capture it on video. Just thought I'd share.

    Has anyone ever done that with the Kombi? (the pickup*-looking version) (*or El Camino, if you can get around the four doors and the drop-down rear bed sides.)
