Brit Chancellor Goes After CO2 Emissions in New Budget

UK Chancellor Gordon Brown has rejiggered car tax fees that'll go into effect for all cars purchased after Wednesday, charging vehicles with the highest carbon-dioxide emissions up to 200 quid, while cutting the taxes on those with the lowest-emissions. On the upside, although the tax on beer's gone up a penny, those who'd rather spend the evening staring into a bottle of Tanqueray won't pay more. The message as we divine it? Forget filling the Jeep's tank, just go get tanked yourself.
