Aggravated Assault: Rebuilt Vintage Dragster Goes to Autorama

Now here's something we've seen a fair amount of in the last five years or so, but simply not enough of. Back in the '50s and early '60s, there was a divergence between racing machines and show cars. Racers were heliarced and meticulously finished. Show cars were leaded (and later Bondoed), buffed and detailed. But for a bit, a racecar could win the Ridler. And one did: Al Bergler's "More Aggravation," which took home the Detroit Autorama's big award in '62 before it ever turned a wheel in anger. Fast-forward nearly a half decade, and Bergler's reconstructed his award-winning record-setter, punched out 392 Hemi and all, and is bringing it back to the Autorama. Word.
