Volkswagen Could Work on Porsche Panamera Production

If a report in the German press, as translated by The German Car Blog, is on the mark, Porsche's new Panamera could be partially built by Volkswagen (now partially owned by Porsche). At the Frankfurt motor show last month, Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking told reporters development of the luxury coupe was a Porsche-only exercise, meaning the Panamera wouldn't use VW's Phaeton platform. Still, WW revealed nothing of assembly duties, like the body shell and paint work Volkswagen is expected to perform when the car is built in 2009.
