American Mercedes dealers found themselves hard-pressed to make a case for including Smart Fortwos in their inventories (as if the C-Class wasn't enough of a brand-diluter) and hammered DCX upper management on the matter until they decided to pull the plug on the idea, instead giving first right of refusal to Roger Penske's UnitedAuto Group. After UnitedAuto stores, current DCX dealers get preference, with the rest of the rabble coming in third.
