    Sitting on the Lot

According to J.D. Power and its squad of Associates, the average new vehicle sells in 58 days so far this year, an increase over 54 days in the fourth quarter of 2005, but a drop (in the right direction) from 66 days year-to-year. Of course, that's just the average, which means at both ends are the best and worst performers. At the top, it's the new Lexus IS sedan followed by the entire Scion line (in various top-ten spots), the Toyota Prius, Porsche Cayman, Toyota RAV4, Pontiac Solstice, and... wait for it... the Buick Lucerne, which flies off the lot in around 18 days. Most of the longest-to-sell are fading or discontinued models, though Chrysler can't be happy to have the Dodge Magnum wagon slip into the triple digits. [Top 10 best and worst after the jump]
