While the inventors of the Zero and the Starion are fiddling around with gasoline version of their i super-sub-subcompact in Southern California, they're about to unveil an electric testbed model of the keicar at an alternative-energy vehicle symposium in Yokohama later this month. The cars will be given to two Japanese energy companies for testing. With a top speed of 80 mph, the wee runabout will be able to travel 80 to 100 miles on a charge. That's not exactly Tesla territory, but it'll be interesting to see what Mitsu does with their research data.
