Remember the story of the crash-avoidance system demonstration that went awry on TV, causing three Mercedes S-Class models to blindly crash into each other? It turns out Mercedes officials knew the test wouldn't work, and so conspired with a journalist from Germany's AutoBild to pull it off for the cameras anyway. Turns out, the journalist — sorry, ex-journalist — who was to have been clandestinely cued when to apply the brakes, flubbed his part and crashed into the car ahead. Worst. Ex-journalist. Ever.
