
The original 427 Shelby Cobra, circa 1966, is my favorite car ever built. It combined the bodacious curves of Bardot with the blinding speed and in-motion artistry of Sea Biscuit. (Hmm, that mental image isn't quite what I had in mind.)
My apologies to the 1963 Ferrari GTO. Cobardotiscuit's got you by a nose.
That's why I am glad for the wide community of kit car makers that build proper Cobra facsimiles, either turnkey or in parts, for keeping the snake alive lo these many years. Kit Car magazine offers a behind-the-curtain look at one of these repro men, Unique Motorcars; arguably, they are one of the best.
