Jeep's Gift to US Troops Starts with Airlift

Yesterday, Jeep airlifted a new Commander into the Detroit suburbs, dropping it 1,200 feet in a flourish of military-grade parachutes. It was part of the company's latest effort to use the country's armed forces and/or jingoistic rhetoric to sell its trucks to red-staters assist the troops overseas by providing care packages as part of Operation Gratitude. The company is collecting and expediting 30,000 care packages to the troops in time for the '05 holiday season, mainly for the publicity sheer joy of selling more cars helping those who risk their lives to protect DCX shareholders all Americans.
