If only some of the older Volvos blocking our progress could be so special. Of course, the Swedish brand best known for its ability to protect crash test dummies (and their human equivalents) has been dabbling with sexy for some time. We reckon the new C70 retractable hardtop strikes the ideal balance; it's attractive enough to make sensible people seem sexy, and stout enough to keep sexy people alive (which benefits us all). The C70 comes complete with your choice of three transversely-mounted five-cylinder engines, all featuring excellent gas milage and "an agreeable character". Quite who that character is remains a mystery...
