Continuing their annual bid to make the Los Angeles auto show into a SoCal design salon of sorts, show organizers are again asking designers to create new concepts that reflect a typically El-Lay sensibility (or, apparently, an homage to prog-rock album covers of the 1970s). And again, themes range from shallow Angelinism, like the Maybach California Gourmet Tourer (with espresso machine) to the hipster-historical, like the Hyundai Greenspeed Gator, a hat-tip to top-fuel dragsters of the 1960s. We're still holding out for Toyota to do the rumored Nick Nolte Hawaiian shirt Corolla.
