Bugatti Ignores Frankfurt, Launches Veyron in French Wine Country

Volkswagen-owned Bugatti chose its home of Alsace in northeastern France, not the Frankfurt motor show, to launch its long-awaited Veyron supercar, which may be a violation of The Treaty of Westphalia (you'll get it later). We'll be looking into that. The guest list was exclusive, mainly comprising socialites, potential customers and Bugatti collectors. (Owning a single, blue Jay Kos blazer, which had become creased to Bangle-like proportions in our luggage, we respectfully RSVP'd out.) According to Classic Driver, 50 orders for the Veyron have been received so far, most coming from Asia, the Middle East, the US and Russia. Meanwhile, the company announced it would build a smaller, more accessible (i.e., six-figures) sports car for the masses.
