There's news coming over the wire from the German-American hybrid, it's cut 2006 operating profit forecast today by $1.27 billion and is predicting the American side of the equation will probably lose more than that. So hey, we guess the good news is that Mercedes'll show a profit, right? We kid the cross-Atlantic merger of equals — because we know they'll still be looking at an operating profit of around $5.5 billion, but man, talk about trying to hide the bad news on a day they know another automaker will have worse news.
