    You know, our favorite automotive aroma is actually that 1960s/1970s-car smell. Somehow the new-car smell is just a little too artificial for us. That's why we hung a Chuck Taylor air-freshener from our mirror that initially made our truck smell like Porta-Loo chemicals. Well, that, and our girlfriend at the time complained about the cigarette stank. With obvious regard to our own health in mind, we checked out this bit reporting that Japanese manufacturers are working to lessen the VOCs outgassed during the first six months of ownership.
