What About Lexus? Toyota Could Introduce Luxury Brand to Formula One

It's no secret the Williams F1 team is moving to Toyota engines next season. But might Williams-Toyota competing against Toyota's constructor team appear redundant in the field? Well sure. But what about Williams-Lexus? It's rumor and speculation right now, but if Toyota did exercise the opportunity to give Lexus's brand — which is expanding globally and increasingly competing with the likes of BMW — a high-performance association, it could be leading the way for similar arrangements by other companies. Just as long as they stop before Super-Aguri-Skoda becomes a reality.

  • Haven't we seen this before when Ford went into F1 under the guise of their premium brand Jaguar?

And what a disaster that was - bled Jaguar dry of cash that would have better been spent on model development for no tangible result?
