It must be Transformers Friday round these parts, what with the pics we received today that may or may not be earlier Constructicons ready to form Devastator and now these two pics received from our enterprising friend Hue out in LA. But what could it be? That's definitely an Autobot insignia...hmm. Ahh, we've got it now. Take a good look at the rear-end of a certain used-to-be red Nissan van by the name of Ironhide. Full text of the e-mail from Hue and a second shot after the jump. Also remember to keep up with all of our Transformers coverage through our mini-site and the corresponding RSS feed.

Very high probability that this is Ironhide in the transformers film. Sadly no shots of the front, but i did get a good look at it. It appeared to be a heavily modified Sierra 3500 GMC. The front was more altered than the back. Vents on each side of a very angular hood and large, square headlamps made up the front of the vehicle. The rear has large fender and smoke stacks. After researching the transformers movie site, this could be ironhide. He use to be a red, nissan van back in the day. Still pretty cool. The autobot logo only appeared on the tailgate and was embossed into the metal.
I shot this on Le Brea and Wilshire Blvd in LA
Our fanboy nipples are hardened from excitement — and it's all your fault, Hue.
Update: It turns out that it's not a GMC Sierra — it's a GMC Top Kick C4500 4WD Crew Cab and we've got more details on the customizations made to make the hauler Ironhide here.

Man, trucks like that are a dime a dozen down here...YEEEHAW!
Yeah, just not with an embossed Autobot logo on the ass, right?
I have an Autobot logo embossed on my ass...
Never mind, it' just a Cheetoh
You sure you don't have RamRash or something?
Oh man, I was going to go for the RamRash reference, but didn't want to mix the purity of Transformer geedom with the viral ickyness of european Dodge marekting tactics. For shame Wert, for shame.
I'll do anything for added page views...anything. Well, almost anything. Ok, really I wasn't even thinking about that, but hey, bonus, ya know?
Umm... I've seen cars before with autobot symbols on them that had nothing to do with the movie. Couldnt it be possible that this is just a guy with a modded truck who really likes transformers. I mean it seems like less of a leap to say that than than saying that they decided to use a black gmc truck instead of a red nissan van. Just a thought.
GM's got some kind of deal with the movie...Bumblebee's gonna be a Camaro, etc...they've donated GMT-900's for other purposes. It was seen near studio production location...makes sense to me.
And those are bitchin' tires for someone who just really likes transformers. Not sure what they are, but, very spiffy.
Could it be that all Autobots are GM, vs. Decepticons Ford?
Nah, remember...most of the Decepticons weren't cars...they were planes and destructive shit (guns, evil construction vehicles, evil boom boxes)...but the one Decepticon we've seen, yes, he is a modified Saleen Mustang via FoMoCo.
I'd say that's Ironhide, for the very reason Ray points out. Ironhide, in his second incarnation, was a Ford F-150, but since GM is apparently putting some money behind this, he's simply been made a Sierra.
So far I think that Saleen Mustang was the only Deceptacon car of any kind. The others consist of (from what I remember) a mine sweeper, a tank, a large helicopter, possibly that piece of construction equipment, and maybe a V-22.
And supposedly a "boom box" that isn't Soundwave. Maybe an iPod?
It better not be Ironhide, that isn't ironhide!!!
Aren't GMC cars.... bulletproof?
Coz most of the GMCs here are bulletproof. So they're... kinda expensive. ahem.
Here is what you probably saw. My husband works for Monroe truck equipemtn out of Monroe Wisconsin. Paramount made a deal with GM to have these trucks modified. Monroe then modifies the truck for GM. They are now making more of the trucks and selling them. We have one sitting in our drivedway. If you want to see it go to www.monroetruck.com
I WANT THAT TRUCK!!!!!!!!
