In case you haven't heard the next Batman movie will include a motorcycle that's been nicknamed the "Batpod" — yes, we know it's a lame name. But whatevs, thanks to tipster Ninan, we've got the snazzy little cycle on film moving for the first time (not including Meredith Viera straddling the Batpod on the air), along with the Batmobile in the foreground. No, there's not a single sighting of Christian Bale anywhere to be seen. We're OK with that. [via 29MotoGuide]
The Dark Knight Returns...Again, batpod, christian bale, clips, defamer, movie cars, movies, batmobile

I remember catching something on TV ages ago that had to do with the making of 'Batman Begins,' and the guy who designed that Batmobile was going on and on about how tough it was to find the specialized tires that they used. Then, I quickly realized, they're just Super Swampers. Frankly, that's not that impressive. Hell, that's really just lazy, as the they're probably the LAST tires that the Batmobile should have (at least as far as fictional integrity is concerned).
I understand, though, that they wanted the Batpropmobile to have some actual stink under the hood, so it's a bigass V8 with some decent induction providing the go.
The Batpod looks plain dumb. What kind of vigilante superhero is going to hang his ass out in the wind so it can get SHOT? Sorry, I'll keep my ballistic armored vehicle and Kevlar cape, thanks.
Oh, wait, I just remembered: movie bad guys are lousy shots.
Looks like lower Wacker Dr. in Chicago, Batman is filming in Chicago right now. I walked by a big bunch of their RVs and 18 wheelers parked on Washington yesterday. No sign of the "Batpod" though.
@elhigh: Not necessarily true. It depends how many bad guys there are:

The above article alone justifies wikipedia's existence.
Also, here are some really good pics of the Tumbler, by far the coolest Batmobile yet (even without an engorged phallus sticking out the front).

They could have used that Dodge-powerd Tomahawk, the one with the v-10...awsome!
@Bumblebee: That Wikipedia entry even references GURPS by Steve Jackson Games, makers of the incredibly awesome, but geeky, Car Wars tabletop strategy/RPG/boardgame. I still have a whole collection of that shit in a closet somewhere.
Isn't it illegal to tape something that's being filmed?
@toyotaboy: taping something being filmed? Would that be from the Department of Redundancy Department?
:)
I think it's only illegal to photograph somebody taping something that's being filmed. Or maybe it's printing a description of somebody photographing...
