The young hoon behind the wheel of Mom's van didn't get a huge amount of air on the jump, but we think this video has earned HOTD honors for several reasons. First, it's a minivan (yeah, the Astro is rear-wheel-drive, but it's still a minivan). Second, the driver keeps pedal to metal all the way up to the point of leaving the ground, unlike some hoons who chicken out at the last second. Third, they used a parking-lot speed bump as their ramp, adding to the likelihood of a stoned stunt becoming tomorrow's story of teenage tragedy. Cutting right to the chase in the video plus the lack of irritating music gains them a healthy +10 bonus, netting a respectable total of 30 points on the Hoon-O-Meter.

GET AN EFFIN' TRIPOD - or at least something
with image stabilization... -10 points for the spastic POV.
still pretty cool tho'.
"you got like 3 feet of air that time"
It should have said "tomorrow's TALE of teenage tragedy." Alliteration, you know.
Make it so!
Wow. The first hoons who seem to have had any concern about interest in their activities by the local authorities, "Get in the f'in car and let's go!"
Not a bad idea since they seem to have left a public parking garage, crossed a public street and entered a public parking lot.
Hope someone checked for traffic first...
COPS COPS COPS do your own thing do your own thing
As amusing as this one was... after it was over I started scrolling through the related stuff that YouTubes puts in the window.
These guys win the Astro-jumping competition.
I followed the "related videos" and found this one that's way better:
[www.youtube.com]
(8 foot ramp at the top of a hill, multiple attempts)
@jeremyc: damn dude...are we the same person?
needs a sticker "If this vans a jumping dont come a a" well crap...
+10 for the laughing dolts who thought it was the coolest and most illegal thing they ever did and wanted to get out of there before the police busted them!
@Mad_Science: ^5
remote-controlled hooning: the new frontier.
@jeremyc: @Mad_Science: Plus - that video gets mad bonus points for using the MacGyver theme song.
@PeteJäyhawk™: it woulda been +50,000 if it hadn't been unmanned!
@PeteJäyhawk™: Doesn't it also get a few minus points for beating the "Mastercard/Priceless" dead horse? Seriously, that meme outlived its usefulness in the world of homemade video humor a while ago...
Mom's gonna be pissed!
@TomAnderson:
Yeah im sick of that too.
Get to the point and impress me with your daring idiocracy, not your dry wit.
There's some hoonage potential to the Astro (especially with SBC conversions being possible). Still, on the only Astro I had any real experience with, the steering wheel was really only there for suggestive purposes.
@TomAnderson: Yeah, but unlike most rip-offs of that ad campaign, this one not only avoids sucking but one-ups the original.
Truly, however, the MacGyver theme was priceless.
Reminds me of that video where a kid lost control of his car after trying to jump it and was killed. Good times, good times.
@Trick: haha yeah especially since the parking lot appears to be completely deserted.
Isn't there an unspoken rule of hoonism not to giggle if you're a dude? Maybe it's just me.
Hey Jalop, you should start a "best jumped auto" thread. All of the posts here were classic, but I can't remember any jumping videos that I like more than the corolla action here -> [www....
I know this isn't a van jumping, but I any auto jumping is worth watching at least once a day.
I jumped my Astro ten times better than this back in high school. I didn't even use a jump, I just went really fast over a tiny hill. Almost killed a cow. That thing was a beast. Best car ever. Totally beats the GMC Safari.
