Auto Week reports VW will likely build the Concept R roadster, which caused a stir at last year's Frankfurt motor show. Details are sketchy at this point, however. Hopefully, VW will build a sufficent mid-engine for this sled (perhaps the new GTI motor), and not stick its 2.0 liter, buck-and-a-half horsepower four in just to keep costs down. Still, price it at under 20 large, and I'll forgive the electrical problems in my old Golf and stop in for a test drive.
