    Spec'ing The New, Entry-Level Alfa Romeo

    Last year, the gossip mill started churning overtime: Alfa Romeo was building a new Alfasud. Talk was that Fiat's mid-premium brand planned to introduce a small, entry-level model on a Fiat platform that could wear the erstwhile Alfasud badge. Now, Carscoop says the car is a go for 2008. And that means the Photoshop predictions are flying, like the one above from Italy's Infomotori. (They've got more, too.) The soon-to-be model will reportedly be getting a version of Fiat Group's new 1.4-liter turbocharged four. Though we doubt Alfa would include the car in its brand's late-decade US marketing push, it could still round out a premium hatch genre comprising Mini Cooper and Volvo C30. Maybe a US model wouldn't be such a terrible idea after all. – Mike Spinelli
