Details are sketchy, but it seems Audi Netherlands confirmed a new Audi S3 will arrive sometime in 2006. The hot version of Audi's hatch was last seen in Europe in 2003. No word on price, arrival date or fixins, but the engine is reported to be a GTI-grade direct-injection 2.0-liter turbo four. Rumor has it an RS3 is also in the works. Could it be a swank cousin of the a VW R37?

I'd expect it to have a ~250hp version of the 2.0 FSI, if the old 1.8 liter is any indication. I just hope we get an AWD 2.0 stateside.
I hope we get one at all stateside... isn't the A3 here a 4 door... I want the 2 door version!

Yes, obviously the graphic shown is a digitally rendered version of an older Euro model S3, which we posted for a combination of editorial context and comedic effect. We do stuff like that sometimes.
