As we told you a few weeks ago, Suzuki's got themselves a concept car here at the Frankfurt Auto Show and it's called the Kizashi. We don't know much else about it mostly because we can't seem to find a press release on it, but it looks kinda sweet, don't it? The one thing we do know is that according to MoneyControl India, which may be a website about controling the world's banks, India's banks or just about personal finance — they think it's going to be built and Suzuki will be sending a lot of them over to the land of the big Tata. We'll see. We'll also let you know if we get a press release on it.

Exelero spawn. A bad sign
Exelero spawn. A bad sign.
I see that TT-based audi "shooting brake" from a few years ago...
Egads, I can't even read the page with all the pictures and text overlapping. Why oh why must grills get bigger and bigger? I'm expecting future cars to be nothing but grills on wheels.
What a butterface.
What a lazy design. It seems kind of macho at first blush, but then you take a look at it, and it's got like 3 design elements that have just been stretched to cover the whole car.
- What should we do for the front?
Well we could make the grill stretch from the hood to the ground so we don't have to worry about anything else.
- You don't think that will make the lights look too little?
Stretch them too.
- Good idea, what about the side profile?
Ok, we jus stretch the side panels so they go all the way to the ground, and slap some big wheels in there.
- Good, good, just one item left, what about the trunk?
-Uhm, stretch the top all the way back and make it a shooting brake?
You're a genius! lets get lunch.
I like it. Cut 'em some slack, it's a Suzuki.
Now stick a Hayabusa engine in there...
A Hyabusa? How about one at each corner?
Now that would be interesting.
I didn't like the new Audi snout when it came out.
I still don't like it (but I dislike less intensely now).
I still don't like the idea on this Suzuki.

@jakay11:
Yea, you said it. Whenever I see the previous Audi 'B6' platform, I like it more and more.
sort of like a less subtle version of the chrysler 300. i didn't think that was possible. no likes, in the front at least.
Since suzuki has never delivered on any one of it's nifty concepts, I could care less.
So what's the next crappy Daewoo that GM will be slapping a Suzuki badge on?
Stick a busa architecture v8 in there with maybe selectable RWD/AWD (why has no one done this yet in a passenger car?) and we are golden. Oh yeah, and it MUST come int black. This would then be the riceboy Excelero. It would also be nice and possible to create a busa v10 or turbo v8. Either one of these would be sicker than sick.
It reminds me of those Mazda concepts from a year or two back.
I doubt that's a 5 mph bumper.
Doesn't look too bad...minus the Suzuki logo on it.
@Scott: Agreed. Aside from the admittedly cool headlights, there's not much to crow about here.
A nose like that belongs on a DeLorean.
looks to me like the designer spent too much time on a voodoo area 51 computer
I like it. Not a blobby soap car at all. Suzuki makes cars?
@LuciferV8: I think it should be dubbed the 'Ricelero'. Looks pretty nifty, too bad Suzuki would never have the stones to produce a car with at least a hint of style.
I actually love the look of this, but doubt it's viability for production. There's no way they could make a production car with a chin that close to the ground; and once you take that away, the whole effect is ruined.
@squablow:
they used to make some cool ones like the Impulse
and the original Swift GTi
who knows maybe they will take some of that Pikes Peak knowhow and incorporate that magic in some newer cars instead of rebadging Daewoos ...
or bring some of their microcars to take on the Smart ForTwo
Is "Kizashi" Japanese for "Boba Fett"?
Aside from the garish headlamp treatment, this could almost pass as a concept car from Ford or Chrysler. At any rate, it certainly doesn't look like the typical bland and practical Japanese sedan, Suzuki may be on to something.
Suzuki presents the "busa-beak"
@yellofury:
I thought the Impluse was an Isuzu?
[en.wikipedia.org]
considering the fact that nobody actually knew Suzuki had a design studio for cars, I'm impressed.
@Seth L: Fortunately for Suzuki, GM sold off most of its Suzuki stock (IIRC, GM retains about 2% ownership in Suzuki), so I have some hope that we'll soon see the end of rebadged Daewoos sold as Suzukis.
@c1josh: Dude, seriously, the C5 is where it's at. Pre-facelift, FTW.
That is the nicest Suzuki ever made. I think that Suzuki has finally got itself together and made a absolutely sweet car.
@beercheck:
The Suzuki Slave 1. I like how that sounds. A LOT.
"Mr. Fett, your car is ready."
@beercheck:
With Leebo as that valet.
