While this F-350, known as the Ultra AP (Armored Patrol), is apparently desisgned as a response to the prevalence of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) on Iraqi roads, it reminds us of an American rendtion of a Technical generally a pickup with a machine gun mounted in the bed used by third-world militias. Featuring a revised seating position that puts the occupants farther away from expected impact points in a "blast bucket" armored compartment, the Ultra AP is fo' shizlas an interesting experiment in customization. And we wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being cheaper to fix than a Humvee.
