German tuning house, TechArt — along with a Germany-wide association of business and community leaders — is promoting safe tuning by building a Porsche 911 Police Cruiser decked out with a package of speed and aerodynamics toys. The message is TUNE IT! SAFE!, which implies a trend toward irresponsible car tuning using illegal products and cheap knockoffs of speed equipment, causing unsafe roadway conditions. The "cruiser" (so far, we doubt any Polizei are out cruising in it yet) is fitted with TechArt's Power Kit TA 097/S1, which mainly includes engine computer tweaks, pushing horsepower to a municipally responsible 370hp.
