The Ariel Atom has been called "as cool as a Phillipe Starck Juicer," but you won't find it at a Target store, unless one happens to be parked in the lot. A true, street-legal open roadster with historic antecedents, the Atom looks almost like a kit car in mid-assembly. A tubular body-and-frame setup provides for an elemental driving experience, sort of like piloting a motorcycle from the sidecar, and a Honda 2.0 liter i-VTEC motor mated to a six-speed manual transmission provides the mechanical gumption. All you need is a few bucks and cojones the size of casaba melons to drive one on the interstate.
