Italian design shop Spadaconcept — founded by former Zagato stylist Ercole Spada — revealed images of its new Codatronica concept. A modern take on Italy's last-century sports-car designs, the Codatronica is based on Chevrolet's Corvette chassis and mechanicals. According to Autoblog.it, it'll be produced in three spec levels, Sport Touring (512 hp) Fast Sport Touring (513 hp - ?) and Sport Super Touring (700 hp, 701 ft-lbs, an estimated top speed of 220 mph and a zero-to-60 time of 2.7 seconds). Feel free to insert Il Uomo del Blocco jokes here.

I think we answered the question: WWVD? (What Would Vader Drive?)
Anyone else feeling like thumping their chest (a little) when these Italian coach builders choose an American sportscar over an Italian sportscar to base their designs on?
Or do they use the Corvette because they feel they can improve it since their brethren's cars are "perfect" ?
Is that a REAR FACING SPEEDOMETER?
I have to have this car. I don't care what other details surround it. Other people NEED to know how fast I can go.
Nice of them to put that display on the back - that way cops won't have to get out their radar guns to clock ya'!
(seriously, what the heck is that?)
I am SO onbaord with this car. It is beautiful. I only dont like the rear of the "cockpit" how its all angled, but damn that is a beauty. I love the rear facing speedo. is it for bragging? or the cops?
Arranging the headlights to project through a clear section of the hood is a really neat trick and shows some original thinking.
I don't know what's going on aft of the doors, though. If it's based on a Vette, the engine is in the front, so..?
DUDE! Is that a pitot static tube on the top?! Fucking AWESOME. I WANT THIS CAR. It's got all the best parts of design from the 80's, transformers, star wars, knight rider, star trek, and the B2 bomber.
all i gotta say is "Effing Rad".
Incredible retro-future design work. That's what we'd be driving 30 years from now if technology had stopped evolving in 1986.
Looks like the love child of a Stingray and a '71 Riviera.
Lets hope it makes it out of the computer and into our hearts.
That lead pic is awesome. The rest of it looks like a '60s idea of what the "1982 Car of the Future" would look like.
Thats not a rear facing spedo it a Hoon Meter.
The pics from the front are absolutely beautiful. the rear... not so much.
@Seth L: They've already got photos of it on the road, so it's gotta be further along than these renderings would lead you to believe.
I love it. This is exactly the kind of crazy/sexy/cool shit that the Italians used to do on a regular basis. For a guy whose name is translated literally as "Hercules Sword", I would expect nothing less.
Seems to me no one could read that rear-facing speedo unless they are keeping up, so I don't think it will impress anyone.
Wow... Very original thinking in the overall execution. 2.7 seconds? Faster that the almighty Veyron? Uber shooting-brake layout? Yes, this car is awesome! Hopefully it will see a bit better distibution and noteriety than the Edonis. Im also pleased that they aparently arent going to psychotic horsepower figures, and Veyron busting top-speed.
I want one! Like others have said, just so people know how fast I was going when I passed them.
WOWWWEEEE!!!
Just what I want, a high-powered mobile sundial!!
I wonder what the extra 1 hp that comes with the Fast Sport Touring package costs
Looks like the batmobile. Is that a speedometer in the back?!
styling cues from the muppets?

I've been wondering when someone was going to reskin the great Z06 chassis, I just didn't think when they did it, the end result would be so fugly. Does anyone know of any good looking reskins?
I seriously want the Batmobile for my daily driver so I am down with anything that has Gotham city overtones. I want one. It has kind of an anime look to it.
Where's the flux capacitor?
Whats that red handle on the passenger side rear? Does someone have to get out and pull the parachute ripcord at 220 mph?
Batmobile + Kit (Knightrider) = this.
One of the Italian Coach builders skinned a Corvette way back when. It was either Bertone or Zagato. I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
I do love the rear facing "look how fast you aren't going" speedo. The car looks like the chicken head dial on my Russian made Big Muff.
my lord, is this the new Knight Industries Two Thousand or what? dear sweet mary and joseph, i have visions of LEDs swishing and a Turbo Boost switch. somebody get William Daniels on the phone.
This is only funny because the Corvette takes major design cues from Ferraris.
Makes me think of Knightrider - it's a bit 70-80's in it's design.
