Tasked with dreaming up a new small Audi, students at Milan's Scuola Politecnica di Design have presented concepts that part with the company's current cold, technical look. By modifying design signatures like the thin glass house and 'beard' grille, the students have been able create vehicles that appear purposeful and utilitarian while remaining clear descendants of Audi's current range. Jay Wen-Chieh Win's design in particular show how Audi could adapt the look of their current front ends towards something more aggressive and dynamic. [Via Car Body Design]

More aggressive and dynamic, you say? It looks like a cat sucking on a pacifier. Bruce is not pleased.
You got a ways to go, kid.
Angry appliance #1217.
Looking for the future? Keep looking...
Got me confused. Looks like a cruder version of the Scion Fuse Concept.

That is exceedingly ugly.
And thus the Cylon-Human war begins.
here's an idea: how about you have auto enthusiasts designing cars. they aren't toasters, they aren't ipods, and they're not some froofy design exercise. hire people that love cars and can draw.
I hate to say it, but those designs are garbage. The cars I draw as doodles look ten times better than that.
lol now I read everyone else's comments. I guess it's unanimous.
Oddly enough, the picture in the bottom left corner is pretty much what the 2009 S1 will look like.
I just saw the full size cover in the newsagent.
Basically the student design with rough edges smoothed out.
Or the student uglied up this design.

Picture in bottom left shows that 2009 S1 looks basically like this.
Don't know if Audi smoothed off the students idea, or student uglied up an already existing one.
Apologies for repeat posts.
Old bloke baffled by technology.
And at least the second one has a link.
So was the project to take the shooting break concept and make it look like shit? This is the first 'design project' cars I've seen that have made me feel good about my doodling skills.
Post-Post-Modern design axiom #1: if it doesn't hurt when you look at it, you're obviously not bitter and jaded enough.
Post-Post-Modern design axiom #2: if someone buys it without intending to be ironic, you've failed.
The S1 and this thing are both hideous... why didn't I go into automotive design? I crap out better concepts than this.
